Combining old-time traditional bluegrass and the just as old-time traditional hillcountry blues of north Mississippi, East Van Grass has been getting folks dancing, hollering and having a good time all over western Canada since late 2011. Their style is said to be a high energy mix of R.L. Burnside, Kenny Brown, Earl Scruggs and Bill Keith.

Hillcountry boot stompin blue(s) grass.

The band is based in East Vancouver (Canada) and is comprised of Ross Christopher Fairbairn (vocals, guitar), Pernell Reichert (banjo, harmonica, foot tambourine, vocals) and Tom Tischer (drums, vocals).

You might have seen them at such festivals as The Lytton River Festival or The Rock Creek Fall Fair (where they opened for the one and only, Fred Penner!). Or you might have seen them opening for The Pernell Reichert Band all over Vancouver BC.

As 2016 starts to mature, be on the look out for East Van Grass' debut album. Recorded live in late 2015, the band is excited to have something for you all to take home with you. Keep a look out around Vancouver (their main base of operations) as well as the indie festival scene; East Van Grass is coming to see ya!
